Shekinah Village

Since its inception in April 2007, Shekinah Village continues to develop with unexpected enthusiasm!! The plans the Lord has given to create a church camp/retreat continue to unfold and expand. Presently, we have four cabins under roof, the land has been cleared and reseeded, the old sawmill has been refurbished and the RV park is nearly completed. Numerous groups have assisted in this project from Georgia to North Carolina.

Plans are ongoing to build an additional three cabins, two of which will house 20 people each. Fencing and landscaping are also in progress. Trails are being developed for horseback riding, hiking and limited ATV use. The lakes add a new and wonderful dimension with swimming, fishing and peddle boats. We are convinced that Shekinah Village will be a viable part of the Meridzo Center Ministries, Letcher County, and surrounding counties, the state of Kentucky and the world!! The ministry possibilities are limitless as related to the village.

We believe God desires to reach children, youth and adults through Shekinah Village. The facility, when complete, will have the capacity to house 40 individuals for camps and retreats. Church groups will also be able to take advantage of the beauty and serenity of this spacious mountain get-away featuring horseback riding on the mountain trails, fishing, peddle boats, and limited ATV riding.

A special thanks must go to Bro. Dan Lawson or Lawson Construction Company. He has tirelessly labored along with his staff and equipment to make the Village a beautiful place indeed. Thank you so much our dear brother for your unselfish generosity. Continue to pray for the Lord to raise up staff for this facility.
